View project: S.R. A1A from U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) to Davis Street Safety Project

• Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Motorists can expect outside single lane closures on southbound State Road (S.R.) A1A from Dunlawton Avenue to Silver Beach Avenue to allow for concrete ramp work.

• Beginning as early as Thursday, May 28: Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement lane closures along Ocean Shore Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) A1A) near East Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach.

  This work requires temporary daytime detours and traffic shifts to safely accommodate paving operations and construction activities.

  During the work, three segments of the northbound and southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard between Standish Drive and East Granada Boulevard will be closed non-concurrently.

  Each segment is anticipated to be a three-day operation beginning with northbound traffic shifting to the southbound side of the road during paving. Each segment will reopen at night, followed by a southbound traffic detour on the following scheduled day. Lanes will be open to traffic over weekends.

  Please see the anticipated schedule below: 

  Segment 1: On Thursday, May 28, Friday, May 29, and Monday, June 1, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., the northbound lanes followed by the southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between East Granada Boulevard and Neptune Avenue.

  • Detour information: 
    • Motorists traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be redirected to the southbound side of the roadway to continue northbound.
    • Motorists traveling southbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard wishing to reach East Granada Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto westbound Neptune Avenue, turn left onto southbound North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard. 

  Daytime flagging operations will help guide motorists at the intersection of Neptune Avenue and Halifax Drive and at the two golf course crossings located on the eastern end of Neptune Avenue.

  Segment 2: On Tuesday, June 2, through Thursday, June 4, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., the northbound lanes followed by the southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Neptune Avenue and Amsden Road.

  • Detour information: 
    • Motorists traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be redirected to the southbound side of the roadway to continue northbound.
    • Motorists traveling southbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto westbound Amsden Road, turn left onto southbound North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard. From there, motorists can turn left to return to Ocean Shore Boulevard.

  Daytime flagging operations will guide motorists at the intersection of Amsden Road and Halifax Drive.

  Segment 3: On Friday, June 5, Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., the northbound lanes followed by the southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Amsden Road and Standish Drive.

  • Detour information: 
    • Motorists traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be redirected to the southbound side of the roadway to continue northbound.
    • Motorists traveling south on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto westbound Standish Drive, turn left onto southbound North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard. From there, motorists can turn left to return to Ocean Shore Boulevard.

  The work schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. FDOT reminds motorists to stay alert, use caution in the work zone, and follow all posted detour signs. 

• Friday, May 22 to Friday, May 29 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Motorists can expect alternating single lane closures with flagging operations on northbound and southbound State Road (S.R.) A1A from north of Granada Boulevard to Hibiscus Drive for paving operations.

• Friday, May 22 to Friday, May 29 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Motorists can expect inside and outside single lane closures on northbound and southbound State Road (S.R.) A1A from East International Speedway Boulevard to Milsap Road for concrete removal, curb installation, signalization, and utilities.

• Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.: Motorists can expect outside single lane closures on eastbound and westbound South Adams Street to Lincoln Street for sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter, and concrete work.  

  Access may be limited for certain driveways along the project corridor. The contractor will be coordinating driveway work with each affected property owner.

• Monday, May 25 through Friday, May 29 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.: Motorists can expect outside single lane closures on eastbound South Adams Street to Lincoln Street for sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter, and concrete work.

View project: I-95 from south of S.R. 50 to S.R. 46

• Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists can expect a median shoulder closure on southbound and northbound I-95 from S.R. 46 (Exit 223) to S.R. 50 (Exit 215).

  These closures are needed for guardrail and ditch pavement work.

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy! 

• Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists can expect a right shoulder closure on the northbound I-95 exit ramp to S.R. 46 (Exit 223). All exits will remain open at all times.

  These closures are needed for ramp widening work and restoration. The ramp will be temporarily reduced to 11 ft wide as this work takes place.

• Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect single and double lane closures on southbound and northbound I-95 from S.R. 46 (Exit 223) to S.R. 50 (Exit 215) and from I-95 northbound to Addison Canal.

  These closures are needed for paving activities.

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists can expect a median shoulder closure on southbound and northbound I-95 from S.R. 46 (Exit 223) to S.R. 50 (Exit 215).

  These closures are needed for guardrail and ditch pavement work.

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy! 

• Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists can expect a right shoulder closure on the northbound I-95 exit ramp to S.R. 46 (Exit 223). All exits will remain open at all times.

  These closures are needed for ramp widening work and restoration. The ramp will be temporarily reduced to 11 ft wide as this work takes place.

• Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning: Motorists can expect alternating single- and double-lane closures southbound Interstate 95 (I-95), between S.R. 50 (Exit 215) and S.R. 407 (Exit 212).

  Closures will shift between the inside and outside lanes as crews perform milling and resurfacing work.

• Monday, June 1, through Thursday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures at U.S. 192 from Nova Road to Arthur J. Gallagher Road for sodding and cleaning. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, May 29, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures at U.S. 192 from Nova Road to Arthur J. Gallagher Road for paving. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures at U.S. 192 from Nova Road to Arthur J. Gallagher Road for cleaning. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Tuesday, May 26 to Saturday, May 30, from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the following morning: Motorists can expect alternating single- lane closures in the inside and outside lanes of eastbound and westbound S.R. 423 (Lee Road) between Kingswood Drive and Adanson Street. These closures are necessary for crews to perform concrete removal and soft digs for strain poles.

• Tuesday, May 26, through Thursday, May 28, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect nighttime westbound and eastbound intermittent lane closures on Sandlake Road from Orange Blossom Trail to Orange Avenue for curb and sidewalk work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Sunday, May 31, through Friday, June 5, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect northbound single lane closures on Orange Blossom Trail from Cinderlane Parkway to Rose Avenue for sidewalk and signalization work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Sunday, May 24, through Thursday, May 28, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect eastbound single lane closures on Clarcona Ocoee Road from Journal Avenue to U.S. 441 for installation work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Sunday, May 24, through Thursday, May 28, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect northbound single lane closures on Orange Blossom Trail from Cinderlane Parkway to Rose Avenue for sidewalk and signalization work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement nightly closures of eastbound I-4 Express from near Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) to John Young Parkway (S.R. 423) from Sunday, May 15, to Sunday, May 31, for bridge joint maintenance.

  During this period, crews may complete the work ahead of schedule, which would eliminate the need for additional closures.

  The closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to end by 5 a.m. the following morning.

  Detour Information

  Motorists traveling on eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) who wish to access I-4 Express will enter at the express lane entrance just west of Exit 79 to John Young Parkway.

• Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists should expect southbound single lane closures on North Pine Hills Road from Clarcona Ocoee Road to Beggs Road for sidewalk work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists should expect northbound single lane closures on U.S. 441 from S.R. 414 to Beggs Road for trail work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Beginning April 30, continuous: Motorists can expect a traffic shift on U.S. 441 north of Beggs Road for trail work.

  These closures are needed for miscellaneous construction activities. 

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Motorists are advised that beginning Sunday, April 26, through mid-June, a road closure will be in place from Fiske Boulevard to Pineapple Avenue. The closure is necessary as part of the safety improvements on Fiske Boulevard.

  • Motorists traveling southbound on Fiske Boulevard who wish to access Stone Street should turn left onto eastbound Barbara Jenkins Street before reaching Pineapple Avenue. From there, turn left onto northbound Pineapple Avenue and continue to Stone Street.
  • Motorists traveling eastbound on King Street (S.R. 520) who wish to access Stone Street should continue east on King Street. From there, turn right onto southbound Pineapple Avenue and continue to Stone Street.

  FDOT advises motorists to remain alert, use caution in the area, and follow all posted detour signs. Please see the attached detour map for additional details.

• Sunday, April 26 through mid-June: Motorists can expect single outside lane closures on northbound Fiske Boulevard (S.R. 519) from Catherine Court to S.R. 520. 

  These closures are needed for miscellaneous construction operations.

• Sunday, May 31, through Thursday, June 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists can expect nighttime westbound and eastbound intermittent lane closures on U.S. 192 from Bamboo Lane to Main Street for paving and signalization work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Tuesday, May 26, through Thursday, May 28, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists can expect nighttime westbound and eastbound intermittent lane closures on U.S. 192 from Bamboo Lane to Main Street for paving and signalization work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• The new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 192 and Oren Brown has been fully activated with red, yellow, and green lights. The new signal will improve traffic operations and provide safer opportunities for pedestrians crossing U.S. 192. Additional upgrades at the intersection include new crosswalks with pedestrian refuges and pedestrian crossing buttons. The westbound left turn lane onto southbound Oren Brown Road has also been extended as part of this project.

  Two new PHBs have also been activated along U.S. 192 near Four Winds Boulevard and Interior Street. PHBs are overhead beacons that remain dark until activated by a pedestrian pressing a button on the signal pole. Once activated, the PHB alerts drivers to slow down with a flashing yellow light, followed by a solid yellow. The beacon then displays a solid red light, requiring motorists to stop and allow pedestrians to cross. The beacon then flashes red, at which point drivers may proceed with caution once the crosswalk is clear. These beacons will increase driver awareness and help pedestrians cross U.S. 192 more safely.

• Sunday through Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.: Starting in January until August, motorists can expect inside and outside single lane closures in the following locations:

  • U.S. 192 from Babcock Road to Riverside Place 
  • S.R. 528/S.R. A1A from S.R. 3 to George King Boulevard 
  • S.R. 520 from S.R. 3 to Milford Point Road 
  • Sarno Road from S.R. 518 to Wickham Road 
  • Eau Gallie Boulevard from east of Pineapple Avenue to South Patrick Drive 
  • U.S. 1 from U.S. 192 to Post Road 
  • U.S. 1 from Crane Creek Bridge to Strawbridge Avenue 
  • Port St. John Parkway over I-95 
  • U.S. 1 from Malabar Road to 1st Street
  • S.R. 405/South Street from S.R. 50 to South Bobbi Lane
  • U.S. 1 from Park Avenue to Bellefonte Avenue
  • Ellis Road over I-95

  These closures are necessary for crews to perform roadway striping work.

  These closures are needed for paving operations.

• Motorists are advised that a continuous single outside lane closure will be implemented northbound U.S.1 (S.R. 5) from Robert Conlan Boulevard to Crane Creek Bridge. The closure is necessary to remove and replace the sidewalk and driveways.
