I-4 Lane Closures

View project: I-4 Interchange at S.R. 528

• Motorists can expect the following overnight closures of the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) at Exit 72

  • Wednesday, March 25, to Thursday, March 26.
  • 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  These closures are necessary for pavement striping work on the ramp. This work is part of the project to widen the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528..

  Detour Information

  Motorists traveling from westbound I-4 to eastbound S.R. 528 will exit early at Exit 75B and head south on Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) to Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482), staying in the left lane and turning left onto eastbound Sand Lake Road. From there, motorists will turn right onto southbound John Young Parkway (S.R. 423) and proceed to S.R. 528.

  FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

• Beginning Sunday, March 22, 2026: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting routine bridge work on Interstate 4 (I-4) at Orange Boulevard in Seminole County and from south of Dirksen Drive/Debary Avenue to Saxon Boulevard in Volusia County. Intermittent eastbound and westbound single-lane and double-lane closures will be necessary to facilitate this work. Please see the lane closure schedule from FDOT below:

  Sunday, March 22, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Westbound I-4 bridge over Dirksen Drive: Lane closures will occur in the far-left lanes.

  Monday, March 23, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Eastbound I-4 bridge over Orange Boulevard: Lane closures will occur in the far-right lane.

  Monday, March 23, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Westbound I-4 bridge over Dirksen Drive: Lane closures will occur in the far-left lanes.

  Tuesday, March 24, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Westbound I-4 bridge over Dirksen Drive: Lane closures will occur in the far-left lanes.

  Wednesday, March 25, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Eastbound I-4 bridge over Orange Boulevard: Lane closures will occur in the far-right lane.

  Thursday, March 26, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Eastbound I-4 bridge over Orange Boulevard: Lane closures will occur in the far-right lane.

  Friday, March 27, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Eastbound I-4 bridge over Orange Boulevard: Lane closures will occur in the far-left lanes.

  This work is being conducted as part of the I-4 Bridge Rehabilitation project to smooth bridge approaches. The work schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

• Sunday, March 22, through Thursday, March 26, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight closures of the eastbound State Road (S.R.) 408 exit ramp to eastbound Interstate 4 (I‑4) at Exit 10B. These closures are necessary for paving work.

  Detour Information:

  Motorists traveling eastbound on S.R. 408 who wish to access eastbound I‑4 will be directed to take Exit 10A toward westbound I‑4, continue to Exit 81 (Michigan Street), turn left onto West Michigan Street, and follow posted signage to access eastbound I‑4.

  FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Beginning Friday, January 30 through Spring 2026, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Motorists should expect daily shoulder closures from the South Street exit to the S.R. 408 off-ramp for construction work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.
