The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement nightly ramp closures at the Interstate 4 (I-4) and Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) interchange as follows:
- Sunday, August 2 - Tuesday, August 4: Eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) closed nightly.
- Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6: Eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road closed both nights.
Closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to end by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Friday, August 7.
These closures are necessary for paving work on the ramps as part of the ongoing improvements to the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange.
Eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road detour, August 2-4
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) will continue east and take Exit 75A to Universal Boulevard. Drivers will then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road.
Eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road detours, August 5-6
Motorists west of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on Turkey Lake Road, turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way, then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.
Motorists east of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on International Drive and turn left onto northbound Universal Boulevard, then proceed to the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.
NOTE: If the exit ramp paving operations are not completed overnight Tuesday, August 4, the eastbound I-4 exit ramp will also close Wednesday night, August 5. In that case, the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp closures will shift to Thursday night, August 6, and Sunday night, August 9, with the final closure ending Monday morning, August 10. All closures will take place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
