Orange County Lane Closures

View project: S.R. 436 from U.S. 441 to Seminole County Line

• Monday, August 3 to August 7, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning: Motorists can expect alternating inside and outside single-lane closures in both directions of S.R. 436, between South Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 441), and the Seminole County Line. These closures are necessary for crews to perform thermoplastic striping work along the corridor.

• Sunday, August 2 to Thursday, August 6, from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the following morning: Motorists can expect intermittent single- and double-lane closures in the center and outside lanes of eastbound and westbound S.R. 423 (Lee Road) between Kingswood Drive and Adanson Street. These closures are necessary for crews to perform drainage structure and signal span wire installation.

• Sunday, August 2, through Thursday, August 6, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect intermittent, single-lane closures on Orange Blossom Trail from Clarcona Ocoee Road to Rose Avenue for curb work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists should expect single-lane closures on southbound North Pine Hills Road from Clarcona Ocoee Road to Beggs Road to the bridge for sidewalk and curb installation. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Motorists should expect single-lane flagging operations on westbound Beggs Road from Pine Hills Road to the U.S. 441 Bridge for sidewalk installation. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.

• Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement an overnight closure of the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) entrance ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road (State Road (S.R.) 535) on Monday, August 3. The closure will begin as early as 10 p.m. and is expected to end by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4.

  This closure is necessary for paving work on the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road.

  NOTE: If this work is not completed overnight on August 3, the same closure and detour will occur Tuesday night, August 4, during the same hours.

  Detour for Westbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road

  Motorists will head south on Apopka-Vineland Road, turn right onto westbound World Center Drive (S.R. 536), then take the loop ramp on the right to access westbound I-4. 

  FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

View project: I-4 at Sand Lake Road Interchange from east of S.R. 528 to west of S.R. 435

• The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement nightly ramp closures at the Interstate 4 (I-4) and Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) interchange as follows:

  • Sunday, August 2 - Tuesday, August 4: Eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) closed nightly.
  • Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6: Eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road closed both nights.

  Closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to end by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Friday, August 7.

  These closures are necessary for paving work on the ramps as part of the ongoing improvements to the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange.

  Eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road detour, August 2-4

  Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) will continue east and take Exit 75A to Universal Boulevard. Drivers will then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road.

  Eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road detours, August 5-6

  Motorists west of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on Turkey Lake Road, turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way, then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.

  Motorists east of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on International Drive and turn left onto northbound Universal Boulevard, then proceed to the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.

  NOTE: If the exit ramp paving operations are not completed overnight Tuesday, August 4, the eastbound I-4 exit ramp will also close Wednesday night, August 5. In that case, the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp closures will shift to Thursday night, August 6, and Sunday night, August 9, with the final closure ending Monday morning, August 10. All closures will take place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.

  FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

• The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement intermittent overnight closures of the left-turn lanes from eastbound Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) to northbound Turkey Lake Road from Sunday, August 2 through Thursday, August 6. The closures are scheduled to begin as early as 11 p.m. each night and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Friday, August 7.

  These closures are necessary for force main installation along Sand Lake Road through the Turkey Lake Road intersection as part of the Interstate 4 (I-4) and Sand Lake Road interchange improvement project.

  NOTE: During daytime hours beginning Monday, August 3, crews will continuously close the inside left-turn lane from eastbound Sand Lake Road to northbound Turkey Lake Road to facilitate the work during these dates. On the morning of Thursday, August 6, crews will partially open portions of the left-turn lane movements as the force main installation work continues.

  Detour: Eastbound Sand Lake Road to Northbound Turkey Lake Road

  From eastbound Sand Lake Road, turn right onto southbound Turkey Lake Road. From there, turn right onto westbound Lake Marie Way. Turn left onto eastbound Sand Lake Sound Road and then left again onto northbound Turkey Lake Road.
