Monday, October 14 to Friday, November 1: Starting on Monday, Oct. 14, motorists can expect a full road closure on northbound and southbound Persimmon Avenue from State Road (S.R.) 46 to West 2nd Street. This closure is necessary to provide City of Sanford crews with the space required to safely conduct underground utility work. During the construction period, the following detour routes will be available for access to the nearby Amtrak Station (see the detour map below for details):
From SR 46, head south on Airport Boulevard to McCracken Road. Turn left onto McCracken Road and continue east until you reach Persimmon Avenue. Then, take another left and proceed north to the station.
From SR 46, turn onto Pomegranate Avenue and travel south to West 2nd Street. Make a right onto West 2nd Street, continue west to Persimmon Avenue, and then turn left to head south to the station.

Sunday, October 6 to Saturday, November 2: Motorists should expect single lane closures in the eastbound and westbound inside lanes of State Road (S.R.) 46, between French Avenue and Monroe Road/C.R. 15. These closures are in place to provide road crews with the space needed to safely perform median work.
