US 1 Lane Closures

• Sunday, July 26 through Thursday, July 30, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures on eastbound and westbound Pineda Causeway (S.R. 404) from U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) to S.R. A1A.

  These closures are needed for paving operations.

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Sunday, July 26, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.: Motorists can expect two temporary traffic holds of up to 15 minutes each on eastbound and westbound Pineda Causeway (S.R. 404) at South Patrick Drive. Law enforcement officers will be on site to safely direct traffic during the closures.

  These traffic holds are needed for Florida Power & Light (FPL) to replace a damaged overhead power line crossing the roadway.

• Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures on eastbound and westbound Pineda Causeway (S.R. 404) from U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) to S.R. A1A.

• Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning: Motorists can expect single outside lane and shoulder closures on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) at the intersection of Fay Boulevard. 

  These closures are needed for drilled shaft installation.

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Beginning June 11: Motorists are advised that a traffic shift on U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) over Pellicer Creek at the Flagler-St. Johns County line will be implemented as early as Monday, June 8. The shift is necessary to accommodate the construction of a new northbound bridge and demolition of the old bridge.

  During this first phase, the northbound bridge will be closed, all northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound bridge.

  Once the new northbound bridge is complete and the old bridge is demolished, all traffic will be moved onto the new northbound bridge. This will allow crews to close and replace the existing southbound bridge.

  Due to space limitations, the outside shoulders will be temporarily reduced to 1 foot during traffic shift operations. The median opening between Pellicer Creek Campground and Shantytown Village will be temporarily closed during construction. Navigational access for boats will be maintained.

  FDOT advises motorists to reduce their speed, follow posted signage, and exercise extra caution in the work zone. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
