US 1 Lane Closures

• Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11, from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.: Motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures on southbound and northbound U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) from Myers Drive to Crane Creek Bridge. 

  These closures are needed for roadway striping operations. 

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Thursday, September 10 to Friday, September 11, from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.: Motorists can expect intermittent outside lane and shoulder closures on northbound U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) from Prospect Avenue to University Boulevard. 

  These closures are needed for roadway paving operations and utilities work. 

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Tuesday, September 8 through Sunday, September 13: Motorists can expect continuous outside right-turn lane and shoulder closures on southbound U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) from University Boulevard to WH Jackson Street. 

  These closures are needed for roadway striping operations, drainage structure installation, and concrete work.

• Sunday, August 30 through Thursday, September 3, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures on eastbound and westbound Pineda Causeway (S.R. 404) from U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) to S.R. A1A.

  These closures are needed for thermoplastic striping operations.

• Beginning June 11: Motorists are advised that a traffic shift on U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) over Pellicer Creek at the Flagler-St. Johns County line will be implemented as early as Monday, June 8. The shift is necessary to accommodate the construction of a new northbound bridge and demolition of the old bridge.

  During this first phase, the northbound bridge will be closed, all northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound bridge.

  Once the new northbound bridge is complete and the old bridge is demolished, all traffic will be moved onto the new northbound bridge. This will allow crews to close and replace the existing southbound bridge.

  Due to space limitations, the outside shoulders will be temporarily reduced to 1 foot during traffic shift operations. The median opening between Pellicer Creek Campground and Shantytown Village will be temporarily closed during construction. Navigational access for boats will be maintained.

  FDOT advises motorists to reduce their speed, follow posted signage, and exercise extra caution in the work zone. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
