The project incorporates safety improvements at the intersections of Corner School Drive and Chuluota Road with State Road (S.R.) 50 (East Colonial Drive) near Bithlo in Orange County. Proposed improvements include installing a new signal at the intersection of Corner School Drive and Colonial Drive and adding new pedestrian signals and crosswalks. At the intersection of Chuluota Road and Colonial Drive, new crosswalks and pedestrian signals will be added to the existing signal.  New accessible ramps will be constructed at both intersections and intersection lighting will be included. 

The intent of this interim safety project is to address the safety concerns for pedestrians at these two intersections prior to construction of a project to widen Colonial Drive from east of Avalon Park Boulevard to Chuluota Road (FPID Number 239203-7), The widening project is expected to start in Summer 2027.

This project will not require additional right of way.
