About

The purpose of this project is to improve operations and safety along State Road (S.R.) 40 (Granada Boulevard) from Breakaway Trail to Williamson Boulevard in Ormond Beach. During design, the recommendations presented in the 2014 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study will be further evaluated to develop the final plans.

The purpose of the PD&E Study was to evaluate the roadway, intersection, and capacity improvements needed to address future traffic demand along this regionally significant roadway while also maintaining important freight transport and emergency management mobility. The section of S.R. 40 is designated as an emerging Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) facility and is designated as a hurricane evacuation route.

Design of the project is expected to begin in spring 2023. Right of way acquisition will be needed for this project and is tentatively scheduled to begin in spring 2025.
