About
The purpose of the project is to enhance safety and operations at the intersection of Silver Springs Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) 40) and SW 27th Avenue in Ocala. Work includes:
- Widening to provide dual left-turn lanes at the eastbound and westbound intersection approaches.
- Widening to the outside on eastbound S.R. 40, approaching the intersection, to accommodate an exclusive right-turn lane.
- Reconstructing the SW 27th Avenue median to provide dual left-turn lanes at the northbound and southbound approaches.
- Reconfiguring the existing signal to accommodate lane improvements.
Get Involved
The FDOT will hold an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida, Ewers Century Center, Building 40, 3001 SW College Road, Ocala, FL 34474. Attendees will have an opportunity to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.
To provide additional flexibility for stakeholders, the FDOT is also offering online opportunities to get involved:
- Join an online webinar on Thursday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to view the project materials and submit written comments during the webinar.
