US 1 Lane Closures

• Please be advised that the Florida Department of Transportation will implement nightly closures of the northbound and southbound inside lanes of U.S. 1 at Godfrey Road in Edgewater.

  Closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, October 5, through Thursday, October 8. The closures are needed for turn lane and drainage improvements.

  The work is expected to be completed by Friday, October 9.

  Motorists should use caution and expect delays while traveling through the work zone. The construction schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

  Closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, October 5, through Thursday, October 8. The closures are needed to allow crews to complete median modifications near the intersection.

  The work is expected to be completed by Friday, October 9.

  Motorists should use caution and expect delays while traveling through the work zone. The construction schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

• Sunday, October 11 from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.:

  Please be advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will conduct nighttime work on U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) at the Pellicer Creek Bridge on Sunday, October 11, 2026, beginning at 10 p.m. Work is expected to be complete by 3 a.m.

  During the operation, the northbound lane will be closed to allow crews to complete asphalt repairs. Traffic will be alternately flagged through the southbound lane while the work is underway.

  Crews will complete asphalt repairs as part of the ongoing work at the bridge. No detour is required.

  Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area, follow posted signs and flagger directions, and allow additional travel time.

  Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

  FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

• Motorists are advised that a traffic shift on U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) over Pellicer Creek at the Flagler-St. Johns County line will be implemented. The shift is necessary to accommodate the construction of a new northbound bridge and demolition of the old bridge.

  During this first phase, the northbound bridge will be closed, all northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound bridge.

  Once the new northbound bridge is complete and the old bridge is demolished, all traffic will be moved onto the new northbound bridge. This will allow crews to close and replace the existing southbound bridge.

  Due to space limitations, the outside shoulders will be temporarily reduced to 1 foot during traffic shift operations. The median opening between Pellicer Creek Campground and Shantytown Village will be temporarily closed during construction. Navigational access for boats will be maintained.

  FDOT advises motorists to reduce their speed, follow posted signage, and exercise extra caution in the work zone. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
