About
The purpose of this safety project is to implement recommendations from a Pedestrian Safety Study on State Road (S.R.) 518 (Eau Gallie Boulevard) in Indian Harbour Beach and Melbourne. Proposed improvements include:
- Installing a raised median to help reduce left turn and angle crashes near Indian Harbour Place and Causeway Shopping Centers, east of Riverside Drive.
- Constructing new signalized pedestrian crossings west of Mediterranean Way and at San Pedro Drive
- Constructing a raised channelizing island and creating a new pedestrian crossing at the signalized Ocean Springs Plaza intersection.
