About

The purpose of this project is to enhance safety along select segments of state roadways in Volusia and Flagler Counties by installing sinusoidal rumble striping and pavement markings along the travel lane lines. The rumble stripes help to alert drivers if the vehicle moves outside the travel lane by creating vibration and noise.

The roadways to be included will have speed limits of 50 mph or greater with flush shoulders, and which do not already have auditory or vibratory pavement markings. Roadways to be included are:

Flagler County:

State Road A1A from south of Camino Del Rey Parkway to north of Armand Beach Drive in Palm Coast

Volusia County:

  • U.S. 1 (S.R. 5)
    • from The Volusia/Flagler County Line to north of West Street in Ormond Beach
    • from south of Harbor Road in Port Orange to north of Lagoon Avenue in Oak Hill
  • S.R. 44 from east of Oliver Drive in New Smyrna Beach to east of Old New York Avenue in DeLand (not pictured in the map)
  • S.R. 415 from east of the Seminole/Volusia County Line to west of Reed Ellis Road in Osteen (not pictured in the map)
  • S.R. 11 from the Volusia/Flagler County Line to south of Center Drive in DeLand (not pictured in the map)
