About

The purpose of the project is to enhance safety and operations at the intersection of State Road (S.R.) 551 (Goldenrod Road) at S.R. 552 (Curry Ford Road) in Orange County. Proposed work includes rebuilding the existing traffic signal with new mast arm poles and upgrading pedestrian signals to allow for a Leading Pedestrian Interval and "No Turn on Red" blank out-signs. The project will also upgrade crosswalks to shorten crossing distances and reconstruct sidewalk curb ramps.

Other operational and safety improvements include adding a second northbound left turn lane on Goldenrod Road, extending the southbound left turn lane and upgrading the raised islands between the right turn lanes and through lanes on Goldenrod Road. The project also proposes to raise the crosswalk within the right turn lanes to enhance pedestrian visibility and mobility.
