The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) repaved a segment of U.S. 1 U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) from East Ridgewood Street in Bunnell to north of Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast to extend the lifespan of the existing roadway. The existing median opening at East Plane Street was converted to a directional median to enhance safety. Additional improvements included constructing a 6-foot-wide sidewalk to close sidewalk gaps where the right of way allows and upgraded pedestrian features at intersections within the project limits. A new traffic signal was installed at the intersection of U.S. 1 and County Road (C.R.) 13.
