About

The purpose of this project is to resurface U.S. 301 from south of Northeast 175th Street to the Alachua County line in Citra to extend the life of the existing roadway. The project will repave the travel lanes and add a 7-foot-wide buffered bicycle lane on both sides of the roadway from the south end of the project to Spring Street (County Road 318).

New turn lanes are planned at the U-turn locations north of the Citra Church of God and south of the Royal Palm RV Park. Asphalt will be added at other U-turn locations to provide more space for larger turning vehicles. Traffic signal upgrades are also planned at Spring Street.

Contractor: V.E. Whitehurst & Sons, Inc.
