About

The purpose of this project is to install wrong-way vehicle-detection systems (WWVDS) on interstate off-ramps to notify drivers, emergency responders and law enforcement of wrong-way driving activity. The goal of this project is to enhance safety for the traveling public by preventing accidents due to wrong-way driving. This technology will be implemented on every ramp on I-75 in Marion and Sumter counties. The WWVDS initiative supports the FDOT’s commitment to achieving zero fatalities and serious injuries on the state highway system. For more information, visit www.fdot.gov/traffic/Wrong-Way-driving.
