This project proposes to realign a segment of State Road (S.R.) 50 to the north of downtown Groveland. The change will enhance safety, livability and walkability within the downtown area. The existing one-way pairs are expected to become city roadways. The project will include a portion of the South Lake Trail, which is part of the Coast-to-Coast Trail.

Intersection improvements at S.R. 19 and S.R. 33 are also planned as part of this project.

Right of way acquisition for this project is in progress.

The FDOT will hold a community information session about this project on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the E.L. Puryear Building, 243 Lake Avenue, Groveland, FL 34736. The purpose of the session is to provide an opportunity for the community to receive updates on this project and ask any questions. Construction is expected to begin later this year.
