This project will reconstruct U.S. 17-92 from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard from a rural four-lane roadway to an urban six-lane roadway. This contract includes construction of a new bridge to replace the existing box culvert at Soldiers Creek.

It also includes milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, signing and pavement makings, lighting, signals, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Additionally, water mains and force mains for the City of Sanford and Seminole County will be installed.

Lane Closures
  • Thursday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Motorists are advised of a single-lane closure in the outside (right) lane along southbound U.S. 17-92 south of General Hutchison Parkway for light pole installation.

  • Sunday, Oct. 25, through Thursday, Oct. 29, from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. each night: Motorists are advised of alternating single-lane closures during nighttime hours in both directions of travel along U.S. 17-92 at various locations within the project limits for asphalt paving and lane striping. For daytime operations, traffic diversions will be made around construction zones that encroach into the travel lanes. Two 10-foot travel lanes will be maintained at all times for northbound and southbound U.S. 17-92.
