Wednesday, March 4: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has installed a new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) and County Road (C.R.) 13 in Bunnell.
The signal is currently operating in flash mode, with full activation to follow within roughly two weeks.
Flash mode serves as a temporary alert to help motorists adjust to the new signal before it is fully activated. While the signal is flashing, drivers approaching the intersection should stay alert and proceed with caution. Motorists should yield to any pedestrians, bicyclists, or vehicles already in the intersection and ensure it is clear before continuing.
This new traffic signal is part of a larger FDOT project to improve safety and accessibility along a nearly six-mile stretch of U.S. 1, a major arterial roadway that runs through Palm Coast and Bunnell.
Work on this project is expected to be completed in early 2026, pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Sunday, March 1 through Thursday, March 5, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures on eastbound and westbound Pineda Causeway (S.R. 404) from U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) to S.R. A1A.
These closures are needed for paving activities.
FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!
