Overnight paving may take place as weather permits. For your safety as well as the safety of others, please reduce your speed and exercise caution throughout the work zone.

Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect nighttime eastbound and westbound inside lane closures on S.R. 44 within the project limits for milling and paving. Please slow down, alertly merge into an open lane and proceed cautiously through the work zone.

Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists should expect northbound and southbound lane closures on U.S. 441 from Lake Ella Road to Avenida Central for paving operations. Please reduce your speed, alertly merge into the open lane and cautiously pass through the work zone.

  • Northbound S.R. 19 traffic wishing to continue north will be directed to U.S. 27. Travel northwest on U.S. 27 to Obrien Road and travel northeast on Obrien Road to access S.R. 19.
  • Southbound S.R. 19 traffic wishing to continue south will be directed to Obrien Road (north of Florida’s Turnpike). Travel southwest on Obrien Road to U.S. 27 and travel southeast on U.S. 27 to access S.R. 19.

Wednesday, April 17, through Saturday, April 27, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Motorists should expect an overnight southbound lane closure along S.R. 19 from the Florida Turnpike overpass and moving southbound for paving operations. Flaggers will be present. Please slowly approach the construction zone, heed the direction of all signs and flaggers, and cautiously bypass the work zone when safe.

Starting April 5, 2024, the entrance to Ed Stone Park from New York Avenue (State Road (S.R.) 44) will be closed for approximately one month. This closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of the new access road to Ed Stone Park, St. John's Marina, and St. John's River Grill from New York Avenue (S.R. 44). During this period, a detour will be in place to guide motorists to their destinations. Drivers will be directed by video message boards and other signage to follow the designated detour route as follows:

DETOUR: Motorists wishing to access Ed Stone Park or adjacent properties from New York Avenue (S.R. 44) will be directed to take South Shell Road until they reach Old New York Avenue (County Road (C.R.) 4110). Motorists will then continue on Old New York Avenue (C.R. 4110) and travel under the S.R. 44 bridge to access Ed Stone Park, St. John's Marina, and St. John's River Grill.

The construction schedule is subject to change pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and allow extra travel time to reach your destination.
