The project at the intersection of U.S. 27 at Independence Boulevard in Lake County is intended to improve overall safety and traffic operations. A traffic services study conducted by the Department determined that a new traffic signal is warranted at this location.

As part of the Traffic Operations Pushbutton Program, the project includes the installation of a new traffic signal. Pedestrian signals are not included in this scope within the intersection area to support the new infrastructure.
