About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is improving safety and traffic flow at U.S. 1 (Ridgewood Avenue) and Homeport Terrace in Edgewater, Volusia County, by converting the full median opening to a two-way directional opening. The change will continue to allow U-turns and left turns from U.S. 1 but will prevent left turns onto U.S. 1 from Homeport Terrace and the Dollar General driveway. Signs and pavement markings will also be updated. The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and efficiency at the intersection by converting the existing full median opening to a two-way directional median.

A temporary two-way directional median was installed on July 8, 2026 while the project is in design.
