Limits: Dalton Drive Intersection
Length: 0.01 miles

04/19/2023 Status Update: Based on feedback and comments received via the public meeting process, The Department is re-evaluating the proposed safety improvements and anticipates completing this re-evaluation over the next 6 months time frame.

The purpose of this project is to enhance safety by converting the full median opening on Alafaya Trail (State Road (S.R.) 434) at Dalton Drive in Oviedo, Seminole County, to a two-way directional median opening. These improvements will enhance access control, traffic flow, and reduce the possibility of crashes.

These proposed improvements will continue to allow U-turns for both northbound and southbound traffic on Alafaya Trail. Northbound traffic will also be able to turn left onto Dalton Drive. Right turns will only be possible from Dalton Drive onto Alafaya Trail. New pavement markings and signage will be installed to direct drivers.

A public information meeting about this project was held February 22, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. Please see the public meeting information in the files below.
