About

The purpose of this project is to increase safety, improve traffic flow, and reduce the number of areas where vehicles cross paths by modifying the open median to a bi-directional configuration at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Oranole Way/Sprint Boulevard in Orange County. This change will continue to allow eastbound and westbound right turns, as well as southbound and northbound left turns onto Oranole Way and Sprint Boulevard, respectively. Eastbound and westbound left turns onto Orange Blossom Trail will be prohibited at this intersection. These improvements were developed following an intersection study completed in August 2019.

The Department has considered all the feedback we received as well as the data gathered and analyzed from the safety study our engineers prepared, and it was determined that in the best interest of safety the Department intends to proceed with design and installation of the proposed directional median. In addition, an extension of the northbound left turn lane on Orange Blossom Trail at Overland Road will be included in this project. An extension of the northbound left turn lane on Orange Blossom Trail at Overland Road will be included in this project.

A public meeting about this project was held on April 21, 2022.
