About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) proposes to resurface the segment of State Road (S.R.) 44 from the Grand Avenue roundabout to Boundary Avenue in DeLand. The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the asphalt pavement to maintain a safe and reliable driving surface.
The project also plans to enhance pedestrian connectivity between Grand Avenue and Old New York Avenue by adding sidewalk on both sides of S.R. 44 where this is none. The project will also reconfigure the intersection of S.R. 44 at Old New York Avenue/Hazen Road to eliminate the skew and align Old New York Avenue with Hazen Road at a single point. A new traffic signal will be added at the intersection.
Turn lanes will also be extended to enhance traffic flow and safety.
