About
The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and operations along the corridor, as well as provide an updated asphalt surface to maintain the roadway. In addition to repaving State Road (S.R.) 434 from east of U.S. 17-92 to S.R. 419, the project will replace a portion of the two-way center left turn lane with a raised median and directional openings between Sheoah Boulevard and Charles Street.
Pedestrian safety improvements include reconstructing sidewalk curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, restore the pedestrian railing at the Sheoah Boulevard intersection, and refresh all crosswalk markings.
The existing traffic signals at Fountaintree Drive/Sunshadow Drive and at Winter Park Drive will be reconstructed and upgraded. Signal enhancements are also planned at the other existing signals along the corridor.
