About

This project proposes to resurface a segment of U.S. 441 (State Road (S.R.) 500) from south of Lake Eustis Drive to Donnelly Street/S.R. 44 in the cities of Tavares, Eustis and Mount Dora to maintain a safe and reliable driving surface. In addition to repaving the road, the project plans operational and safety improvements, including:

1.  Extending the southbound left and right turn lanes at Spring Harbor Boulevard

2.  Provide bicycle keyhole lanes next to the right turn lane at Country Club Boulevard

3.   Evaluate construction of raised channelizing islands to break up turn lanes at Donnelly Street/S.R. 44

4.   Upgrading pedestrian crossings at Spring Harbor Boulevard, Donnelly Street/S.R. 44, Mayo        Drive/Huffstetler Drive and Curt Street. The project will also reconstruct pedestrian curb ramps as needed to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
