The purpose of this project is to provide a signalized pedestrian crossing on Goldenrod Road (State Road (S.R.) 551) between Restful Street and University Garden Drive. The proposed signal will be equipped with a pedestrian activated signal known as a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB).  Once activated, the PHB signal turns red to stop traffic and allow the pedestrian to cross.

The project developed from a 2023 Pedestrian Crossing Study along Goldenrod Road between the signalized intersections of Bates Road and University Boulevard. Three potential crossing locations were evaluated. The location for this project had the highest crossing volume.
