About
The purpose of this project is to provide a safer crossing opportunity for pedestrians by installing a new crosswalk equipped with a pedestrian-activated Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at the intersection of State Road (S.R. 19 (Palm Avenue) and Central Avenue in Howey-in-the-Hills. The project will also add a left turn lane from northbound S.R. 19 to Central Avenue.
The intersection improvements were requested by the Town of Howey-in-the-Hills to enhance access to Marianne Beck Memorial Library and Central Park.
This project will be constructed in conjunction with a resurfacing project on S.R. 19 from Lakeview Avenue to County Road 48.
