The purpose of this project is to enhance safety along select segments of state roadways in Brevard, Orange, and Seminole counties by installing rumble striping along the center and outside travel lane lines. The rumble stripes help to alert drivers if the vehicle moves outside the travel lane by creating vibration and noise.

The roadways to be included will have speed limits of 50 mph or greater with flush shoulders, and which do not already have auditory or vibratory pavement markings.  Roadways included are:

  • U.S. 441:
    • from south of Ponkan Road to S.R. 429
    • from south of Northcrest Drive to north of Hiawassee Road
    • from south of Hiawassee Road to north of S.R. 414
    • S.R. 414 from S.R. 434 to west of I-4
    • Mary Louis Lane to Cypress Crossing Drive
  • S.R. 435 from Vineland Road to S. of S.R. 526
  • S.R. 482:
    • west of Horizon Park Drive to west of Sunport Drive
    • portion of ramp from Jetport Drive to eastbound S.R. 528
  • S.R. 436 from Lake Howell Lane to south of Cassell Creek Boulevard
  • S.R. 419 from south of Osprey Trail to west of Wade Street
  • S.R. 429 - three locations between Wekiva River Road and east of S.R. 46
  • S.R. 50:
    • west of Tanner Road to west of Chuluota Road
    • west of 9th Street to west of Lansing Street
  • S.R. 46:
    • 620-foot section west of Richmond Street
    • east of Bay Blossom Run to east of Jungle Road
    • west of Rest Haven Road to west of the Jolly Gator Fish Camp
  • S.R. 520:
    • Macon Parkway to Maxim Parkway
