About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing U.S. 1 (South Ridgewood Avenue) from Beville Road (State Road (S.R.) 400) to north of Fairview Avenue in Daytona Beach. Additional safety improvements along the corridor include:
- Adding four new midblock pedestrian crossings equipped with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs). The crossings are near Osceola Avenue, south of Shady Place, between South Street and Cedar Street and north of Live Oak Avenue.
- Modifying the median opening at U.S. 1 and Shady Place to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes.
- Adding a raised intersection at Orange Avenue.
