About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans to mill and resurface nearly 4 miles of Nova Road (State Road (S.R.) 5A) from Flomich Street north to U.S.1. The project also proposes safety and operational improvements from Granada Boulevard (S.R. 40) to Wilmette Street. The design proposes to replace the existing center two-way left turn lane on that section of Nova Road with a raised median. Left turn lanes and U-turn opportunities will be provided to maintain access. The project will also install a new traffic signal at Old Kings Road.

Farther south, the project also proposes to replace the existing open median with a directional median at Arroyo Parkway. This change will allow left turns onto Arroyo parkway from Nova Road. However, traffic turning from Arroyo Parkway to Nova Road will have to turn right.

Other improvements proposed along the corridor include upgrading traffic and pedestrian signals, enhancing lighting at all signalized intersections, and reconstructing pedestrian curb ramps as needed to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards.
