About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans to mill and resurface nearly 4 miles of Nova Road (State Road (S.R.) 5A) from Flomich Street north to U.S.1. The project also proposes safety and operational improvements from Granada Boulevard (S.R. 40) to Wilmette Street developed during the corridor planning project. The purpose of the planning project was to identify safety opportunities and evaluate potential solutions.

The preferred concept moving to design would provide two travel lanes in each direction from north of Granada Boulevard to Wilmette Street with a raised landscaped median, wider sidewalks, and additional signalized pedestrian crossings. Improved turn lanes will be provided at median openings to facilitate left turns and U-turns. The project is also evaluating a potential new traffic signal at Old Kings Road. The roadway configuration south of Granada Boulevard is not changing.
