PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing U.S. 441 (West Burleigh Boulevard/State Road (S.R.) 500/S.R. 19) from Lakeshore Boulevard to LakeEustis Drive in Tavares. The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the asphalt and maintain a safe, reliable roadway surface.

This project will also upgrade pedestrian curb ramps, as needed, to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Lane closures occur overnight from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. along open stretches of roadway and from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. within 600 feet of an intersection. Motorists should anticipate areas of uneven pavement, a common condition during construction as multiple asphalt layers are applied in phases. These roadway conditions are temporary and will improve gradually as the project progresses.

When workers are present, motorists are strongly encouraged to exercise caution and reduce their speed to help ensure the safety of everyone on the roadway. The project schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

FDOT is committed to building a transportation system that not only fits the current needs of Florida’s residents and visitors but also enhances mobility throughout the state to accommodate its consistent and rapid growth.

FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!
