The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing 24 miles of northbound and southbound Interstate 95 (I-95) from south of Malabar Road (State Road (S.R.) 514) to north of Fiske Boulevard (S.R. 519). The ramps at the following interchanges will also be repaved: Malabar Road, Palm Bay Road (County Road (C.R.) 516), U.S. 192, S.R. 518 (Eau Gallie Boulevard), S.R. 404 (Pineda Causeway), Wickham Road, and Fiske Boulevard.

Other improvements include building barriers to protect the overpass piers at Minton Road, S.R. 404, and Viera Boulevard, applying new deck coatings on the bridges over S.R. 518 and Lake Washington Road, upgrading pavement markings, and improving the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).

Lane Closures
  • Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight ramp closures at the Interstate 95 (I-95) interchanges at Wickham Road (Exit 191) and Pineda Causeway (State Road (S.R.) 404) (Exit 188) beginning as early as Sunday, March 29, through Wednesday, April 1. The final ramp is scheduled to reopen Thursday morning, April 2.

    These closures are necessary to complete paving operations for the I-95 resurfacing project in Brevard County.

    Sunday, March 29: The southbound I-95 off-ramp to Pineda Causeway (Exit 188) will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

    • Motorists traveling southbound on I-95 who wish to access Pineda Causeway (Exit 188) should take the prior exit onto westbound Wickham Road (Exit 191), turn left onto southbound Lake Andrew Drive, and continue south to Pineda Causeway.

    Monday, March 30, to Tuesday, March 31: The southbound I-95 on-ramp from Pineda Causeway will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, concluding on Wednesday morning, April 1.

    • Motorists traveling eastbound on Pineda Causeway who wish to access southbound I-95 should continue east and turn right onto southbound Wickham Road. From there, continue south and turn right onto westbound Eau Gallie Boulevard (S.R. 518), then proceed west to the southbound I-95 on-ramp.
    • Motorists traveling westbound on Pineda Causeway who wish to access southbound I-95 should continue west and turn right onto northbound Lake Andrew Drive. From there, continue north and turn right onto eastbound Wickham Road, then proceed east to the southbound I-95 on-ramp.

    Wednesday, April 1: The northbound I-95 off-ramp to Pineda Causeway (Exit 188) will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

    • Motorists traveling northbound on I-95 who wish to access Pineda Causeway (Exit 188) should continue north and take the exit for Wickham Road (Exit 191). From there, turn left onto westbound Wickham Road, immediately re-enter southbound I-95, and proceed to the Pineda Causeway exit (Exit 188).
  • Sunday, March 29 through Thursday, April 2, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists can expect inside single and double lane closures northbound S.R. I-95 from Pineda Causeway (Exit 188) to Fiske Boulevard (Exit 195).

    These closures are needed for paving activities.
