About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) resurfaced two miles of State Road (S.R.) 401 from S.R. 528 to the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The entrance and exit ramps at S.R. 528 were also repaved, extending the life of the roadway.
Additional improvements included upgrading pavement markings, improving the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), upgrading guardrails, and improving the existing northbound and southbound movable bridge signals.
This project also included construction of a new driveway at North Cargo Berth 8, widening of the driveway at S.R. 401 and Grouper Road, regrading of the swale, and installation of new traffic detection loops.
