About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing two miles of State Road (S.R.) 401 from S.R. 528 to the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The entrance and exit ramps at S.R. 528 will also be repaved, extending the life of the roadway.
Additional improvements include upgrading pavement markings, improving the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), upgrading guardrails, and improving the existing northbound and southbound movable bridge signals.

Lane Closures

6 p.m. Sunday, June 8, through 4 a.m. Thursday, June 12
Motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures northbound S.R. 401 from S.R. 528 to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
These closures are needed for paving activities.
FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

Sunday, June 8, to Thursday, June 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following morning: Motorists can expect overnight closures on the ramp from southbound State Road (S.R.) 401 to westbound S.R. 528. The closures are necessary for paving operations.
Detour information:
Motorists traveling southbound on S.R. 401 who wish to access westbound S.R. 528 should follow signage to the westernmost bridge, use the access road on the east side to reach the eastbound S.R. 528 on-ramp, and then make a U-turn at King George Boulevard to head west.
