Project Details
About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing Pineda Causeway (State Road (S.R.) 404) from U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) to S.R. A1A in South Patrick Shores, and the towns of Merritt Island and Palm Shores. The project limits include repaving the interchange ramps at U.S. 1, South Tropical Trail (County Road (C.R.) 3), and South Patrick Drive (S.R. 513).
The project also includes several operational enhancements, such as reconstructing the existing traffic signal at the intersection of S.R. 404 and S.R. A1A with new mast-arm poles.
Additional improvements include installing wrong-way detection systems on ramps that currently lack them, adding bike lanes adjacent to the right turn-lane at the S.R. A1A intersection, and updating the pavement markings for the bike lanes.
