The purpose of the project is to resurface U.S. 192 (State Road (S.R.) 530) from U.S. 27 to the Orange County line to extend the service life of the existing roadway. Additional proposed work includes adding sidewalk on both sides of the roadway where none exists and reconstructing pedestrian curb ramps as needed to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Pedestrian features and traffic signal upgrades are planned at the intersection of U.S. 192 at Town Center Boulevard (east).

The project also proposes to restripe westbound U.S. 192 to create a dedicated right turn lane to Town Center Boulevard (west). The westbound middle lane will carry traffic to northbound U.S. 27, while the left lane will carry traffic to southbound U.S. 27.
