This project intends to mill and resurface U.S. 441 (State Road 500) from Mills Street to College Drive to maintain the asphalt surface. The project also plans to upgrade traffic signals, fill in some sidewalk gaps from Mills Street to S.R. 44 and extend the dual left turn lanes at the intersection of U.S. 441 and S.R. 44.

Another safety enhancement is to close the existing directional median at Nichols Drive and modify the median at North Lake Avenue. A dedicated right turn lane at the RaceTrac gas station will be added.
