About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing pedestrian safety enhancements at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92/State Road (S.R.) 600) and Lockhart Street in Daytona Beach. These improvements include installing a new signalized pedestrian crossing, equipped with Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS). APS are devices that use audible sounds and spoken messages to let blind or low-vision pedestrians know when it is safe to cross a street. In addition, pedestrian curb ramps throughout the project area are being upgraded to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
