About

The purpose of this project is to improve pedestrian safety by constructing a signalized crossing at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92/State Road (S.R.) 600) and Lockhart Street in Daytona Beach. These improvements include installing a new signalized pedestrian crossing, equipped with Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS). APS are devices that use audible sounds and spoken messages surfaces to let blind or lowvision pedestrians know when it is safe to cross a street. In addition, pedestrian curb ramps throughout the project area will be upgraded to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
