PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing safety improvements on a 10.5-mile segment of State Road (S.R.) 471 from County Road (C.R.) 478A to S.R. 35/U.S. 301 in Webster. The purpose of this project is to resurface S.R. 471 to maintain a safe and reliable travel surface.

The project will include driveway apron improvements, signing, and pavement markings. Sidewalk upgrades will be made to meet ADA requirements.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Motorists should anticipate areas of uneven pavement within the project limits, a common condition during construction when the contractor applies multiple asphalt layers in phases. Temporary lane closures should also be expected throughout the work zone both day and night, as crews require buffer zones to remain protected from oncoming traffic during construction operations.

Single-lane closures are likely both day and night, depending on the weekly schedule.

Roadway conditions are temporary and will improve gradually as the project progresses. While workers are on site, motorists are strongly encouraged to exercise caution and reduce speed to ensure the safety of everyone on the roadway. The project timeline is subject to change and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
