About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is milling and resurfacing U.S. 1 from Post Road to Pineda Causeway (State Road (S.R.) 404) in the Town of Palm Shores, and rehabilitating the existing drainage outfall to the Indian River on U.S. 1 at Madrid Drive, reconstructing the portions of the outfall that are beyond rehabilitation.

To help encourage safer driving speeds and create a protected bicycle lane, the project is installing raised curb along the outside lane. The curbs help to keep vehicles from entering the bicycle lane, which enhances safety for bicyclists.

The project will also make improvements to interconnect the traffic signals for approximately 1.8 miles south of the project between the signalized intersections of Lake Washington Road, Parkway Drive and Post Road. The interconnected signals allow the county to make coordinated updates in signal timing as needed to improve operation.
