445215-1 US 1 (S.R. 5) from Miller Cove Road to the Pineda Causeway

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) milled and resurfaced U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5) from Post Road to Pineda Causeway (S.R. 404) in Palm Shores. The project also rehabilitated the existing drainage outfall to the Indian River on U.S. 1 at Madrid Drive, reconstructing portions of the outfall that were beyond rehabilitation.

To help encourage safer driving speeds and create a protected bicycle lane, the project installed raised curb along the outside lane. The curbs helped keep vehicles from entering the bicycle lane, enhancing safety for bicyclists.

The project also made improvements to interconnect the traffic signals for approximately 1.8 miles south of the project between the signalized intersections of Lake Washington Road, Parkway Drive, and Post Road. The interconnected signals allowed the county to make coordinated updates to signal timing as needed to improve operations.
