The goal of this project is to increase pedestrian safety at specific signalized intersections by installing street lighting that offers better visibility. Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures will be installed at each intersection, and any existing fixtures will be upgraded to LED.  No other intersection improvements are expected in this project. This project improves signalized intersections along 1st Street (State Road (S.R.) 46), Sanford Oviedo Road (S.R. 434/419), and Alafaya Trail (S.R. 434) at the following locations:

1. 1st Street at Wayside Drive/Oregon Street

2. 1st Street at Town Center Boulevard/Hickman Drive

3. 1st Street at Rinehart Road

4. 1st Street at Upsala Road/Monroe Road

5. 1st Street at Central Park Drive/Old England Lane

6. 1st Street at Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard/Rand Yard Road

7. 1st Street at Airport Boulevard

8. Sanford Oviedo Road at Vistawilla Drive

9. Alafaya Trail at W. Palm Valley Drive

10. Alafaya Trail at Carrigan Avenue

11. Alafaya Trail at Chapman Road

12. Alafaya Trail at Alafaya Woods Boulevard

13. Alafaya Trail at Alexandria Boulevard

14. Alafaya Trail at Mitchell Hammock Road

FDOT has completed the design phase of this project. Local utility companies are completing the required work.
