The goal of this project is to increase pedestrian safety at specific signalized intersections by installing street lighting that offers better visibility. Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures will be installed at each intersection, and any existing fixtures will be upgraded to LED.  No other intersection improvements are expected in this project. This project will improve signalized intersections on U.S. 1 (Ridgewood Avenue) in Volusia County at the following locations:

  • Ridgewood Avenue at Bay Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Mullally Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Fairview Avenue
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Madison Avenue
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Mason Avenue
  • Ridgewood Avenue at 2nd Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at 3rd Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at 6th Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at 8th Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at LPGA Boulevard
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Walker Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Flomich Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Calle Grande Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Hand Avenue
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Division Avenue
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Granada Boulevard
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Wilmette Avenue
  • Ridgewood Avenue at Nova Road

FDOT has completed the design phase of this project.  Local utility companies are completing the required work.
