The Florida Department of Transportation District Five is conducting a study to evaluate potential options for a multi-use trail along State Road (S.R.) 40 from South Beach Street at Cassen Park to SR A1A in Ormond Beach, a distance of approximately 1 mile.

This section, known as the Ormond Beach Trail Gap, is part of a larger regional trail system called the St. Johns River to Sea (SJR2C) Loop Trail.  Once completed, the SJR2C Loop Trail will connect several communities including St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Titusville, DeLand and Palatka. This study is complete and will be going to design.
