This project involves widening U.S. 92 (International Speedway Boulevard) to provide two travel lanes, a 5-foot-wide bicycle lane and a 6-foot-wide sidewalk in each direction. Improvements also include building a raised median and resurfacing along U.S. 92, and upgrading the traffic signals at Halifax Avenue, State Road (S.R.) 441 (Peninsula Drive), and Grandview Avenue. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is evaluating options for improvements at the intersection of U.S. 92 at S.R. A1A, including an upgraded traffic signal or roundabout.
FDOT is holding a public hearing regarding the design plans on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 5:45 p.m. The public hearing is being held to present project information and obtain public input.
The Department is offering two ways for the community to participate in the hearing. Interested persons may join the Virtual Public Hearing (VPH) from a computer, tablet or cell phone. Or they may participate in person by going to The Shores Community Center, located at 3000 Bellemead Drive, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. All participants, regardless of which platform they choose, will participate in the same live hearing.
Please see the project file “2020-10-01 Public Hearing Announcement.pdf” for instructions on how to register for the virtual public hearing on-line or in-person location.
