The intent of this project is to realign the eastbound State Road 44 horizontal curve approaching the CSX overpass bridge to improve the geometry in response to recent crash history. The goal is to eliminate an existing 16-foot lane shift and broken back curve alignment between long and short radii curves at the eastbound approach to the CSX overpass bridge by providing a more gradual transition utilizing large radii compound curves.

Additional improvements include milling and resurfacing, sidewalk reconstruction, curb ramp reconstruction, reconstruction of the eastbound right turn lane at the NE 25th Street intersection, signing and pavement marking upgrades, and drainage improvement.
