About
This project will widen a portion of U.S. 301 (State Road 35) from County Road (C.R.) 468 (Warm Springs Avenue) to Florida's Turnpike. This is one of three segments within an overall project to widen U.S. 301 from two to four lanes from C.R. 470 to Florida's Turnpike.
The widened roadway will provide two lanes in each direction separated by a raised median. Safer accommodations for both bicycles and pedestrians will be included by adding a 12-foot-wide shared-use path on both sides of U.S. 301.
The improvements follow the recommendations of the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study completed in 2019 under FPID No. 430132-1.
This project is part of the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative (www.fdot.gov/movingfloridaforward), which allows FDOT to advance much-needed roadway improvements around the state to address congestion, improve safety, ensure the resiliency of our transportation network, and enhance Florida’s supply chain and economic growth.
The other two segments of the overall project are being constructed under 430132-2 and 430132-4.
