About

This project has been completed. The information on this webpage is archived for reference and research purposes.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) cleared vegetation, debris, and other materials within the right-of-way along Ellis Road (St. Johns Heritage Parkway) from west of John Rodes Boulevard to west of Wickham Road in Melbourne and West Melbourne.

Erosion control measures were implemented, and once clearing and grubbing were complete, performance turf was installed. This project served as preparation for utility construction and relocation activities related to the Ellis Road widening project (426905-4), which was scheduled to begin in spring 2026.

The project was completed through a partnership with Brevard County, the cities of Melbourne and West Melbourne, the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO), and Melbourne International Airport.

Project documents are available upon request for historical reference.
