About

The project plans to widen State Road (S.R.) 40 from the existing two lanes to four lanes from S.R. 11 to Cone Road. The length of the project is approximately 7.1 miles.

The project includes resurfacing of the existing roadway to serve as westbound travel lanes and building new roadway for eastbound travel lanes. The project will also include a 12-foot-wide multi-use trail on the south side of the road.

The S.R. 11 intersection will be reconstructed. The plans also propose replacing three existing bridges and adding a wildlife crossing box culvert (8' x 19'). Drainage modifications, stormwater treatment facilities, extension and/or replacement of existing culverts, and ditches and interceptor ditches are planned.

Right of way acquisition is in progress.  Construction is not yet funded.
