About
The project is to widen State Road (S.R.) 40 from the existing two lanes to four lanes, from S.R. 11 to Cone Road. The length of the project is approximately 7.1 miles.
The project includes milling and resurfacing of the existing roadway to serve as westbound travel lanes, and construct new roadway for eastbound travel lanes.
The project also includes reconstructing the S.R. 11 intersection, replacing three existing bridges and adding a wildlife crossing box culvert (8' x 19'). Drainage modifications, stormwater treatment facilities, extension and/or replacement of existing culverts, and ditches and interceptor ditches are planned.
The project will include a 12-foot wide, paved, multi-use trail on the south side of the road.
