Construction Open House for State Road 426 Project Set for July 13

WINTER PARK, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a construction update open house regarding safety improvements on State Road (S.R.) 426 (E. Fairbanks Avenue/Osceola Avenue/Brewer Avenue/Aloma Avenue) from South Park Avenue to North Lakemont Avenue on Monday, July 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The purpose of the project is to resurface this segment of S.R. 426 and enhance safety by adding raised intersections, speed tables, upgraded pavement markings and signage, and raised midblock crossings equipped with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs). Construction is scheduled to begin this summer.

The in-person open house will be held at the Winter Park Events Center, 1050 W. Morse Boulevard, Winter Park, FL 32789. Attendees will be able to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and learn more about the anticipated construction schedule.

To provide additional flexibility for stakeholders, the FDOT is also offering online opportunities to get involved:

·       Join an online webinar at 5:30 p.m. to watch a project presentation and submit written questions or comments using the webinar questions box. ·       Visit the project website at your convenience at www.cflroads.com/project/451282-2. Visitors to the page may watch the project presentation, view project exhibits, and submit questions directly to the project manager. Project materials will be available beginning July 13 and will be the same as what will be shared at the in-person open house. While the information will remain on the website throughout the project, please provide comments or questions by Monday, July 27, 2026, to have the comments included in the open house record.
