OCALA, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites the community to learn about proposed improvements on State Road (S.R.) 40 at the intersection of SW 27th Avenue in Ocala during a project open house on Thursday, May 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The in-person open house will be held at the College of Central Florida, Ewers Century Center, Building 40, 3001 SW College Road, Ocala, FL 34474. Attendees will be able to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.

To provide additional flexibility for stakeholders, the FDOT is also offering online opportunities to get involved:

  • Join an online webinar on Thursday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to view the project materials and submit written comments during the webinar. If joining the webinar, please provide a few minutes to get logged in so you can view the presentation in its entirety.
  • Participate through the project web page at www.cflroads.com/project/451251-1. Community members may visit the website any time to view project exhibits and submit comments and questions directly to the project manager. Materials will be available beginning May 21 and will be the same as what is shared at the in-person open house. While the information will remain on the website throughout the project, please provide comments or questions by Thursday, June 4, 2026, to have the comments included in the open house record.
